Efficient quantum memory in naturally trapped Rare-Earth ions
Abstract
The ability to map, store, and later retrieve quantum states of light from matter is one of the important building blocks of quantum information processing. Such a device is called a quantum memory for light. The objective in this talk is to demonstrate a quantum memory with high storage and retrieval efficiency in Rare-Earth materials. The slow light effect in Rare-Earth materials, strong dispersion originating from absorption engineering inside the cavity, and finally an efficient quantum memory construction based on a cavity configuration will be discussed.
